I was recently invited along to the newly reopened Damm27 so we headed along before the Euros final for an impromptu date night! Damm27 is a stunning gastropub with a great new menu that has a French and continental twist… the cocktail list is also amazing! I tried their pornstar martini and I must say it's 100% the best one I've ever had - the flowers on top were so cute and I believe they use flowers for all of their cocktails, such a nice touch.
For starters, we went for the Courgette Frito Misto with Tomato and Basil compote. I had never had this before but let's be honest, it was fried so obviously I loved it. For mains I went for the Sunday roast, the meat was so so good and Anton had the beef bourguignon pie which was equally as good.
Finally, for dessert, we went for sticky toffee pear pudding with pistachio ice cream. I can't recommend Damm27 enough, staff were excellent and the restaurant itself was the perfect vibe for a date night in Edinburgh.
