o2 for War Child

19 February 2019

Lewis and I had a very spontaneous and last minute trip to Manchester last weekend to see the amazing Tom Walker! Not only did we see Tom Walker perform but it was also in a very intimate venue and for an amazing cause. o2 very very kindly invited us along for the gig which was held as part of the o2 war child brits week. This amazing initiative gives people the opportunity to see some of the biggest names in music in intimate venues while simultaneously raising money and awareness for children whose lives have been torn apart by war.

War child was founded in 1993 by film-makers David Wilson and Bill Leeson. On assignment in the former-Yugoslavia they were horrified by the violence and ethnic cleansing they witnessed. And especially its impact on children. They help keep children of war safe, give them an education, and equip them with skills for the future.

War Child UK raised an estimated £650,000 through BRITs Week shows in 2018 and I honestly couldn't be happier to have been apart of the 2019 fundraising. The gig was amazing as expected with an absolutely incredible performance from Tom Walker (who Lewis has loved for years and he introduced me to Toms music). The venue was also top notch and the space we were in was painted all pink which would've made for a killer pic but we were having way too much craic to think about taking pictures while at the gig itself.

A huge thank you to o2 and war child for all of the amazing work they do!
